About Us
Our Parish is centred at 261 Bank Street Te Awamutu. It includes Pirongia and Otorohanga, so we cover a wide geographical area with a mix of rural and town-based members. We are an inclusive Parish, welcoming people of all cultures, ages and stages in life. We are open to new ideas to include our congregation in ways that make everyone, in our diversity, feel valued, challenged and encouraged.
We follow John Wesley in his challenge to nurture our inner lives and to be socially responsible in our community by being a visible presence, 'living the life' and making a difference in the world around us.
We have been in the district for 130 years and in September 2015, celebrated 100 years since the opening of the present church building. We are a parish who love and serve God as Methodist Christians. We stand firm in our faith and provide a friendly, caring, safe and supportive parish.
We are a Church that worships God in the Methodist tradition. We follow the way of Jesus Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit. As Christ was compassionate and inclusive, so we endeavour to be compassionate and inclusive, welcoming others into our midst and reaching out to those we meet with care and concern.
